Sciatica pain, neck tightness, arm and shoulder pain

“The overall experience at Massage Therapy Group is excellent. The location is easy to access with plenty of parking. The facility has numerous massage rooms of which all are clean, quiet and provide a very relaxing atmosphere. I have been visiting this massage group for several years every 5-6 weeks and never disappointed.

…Over the years I have had exceptional improvement with sciatica pain, neck tightness, arm and shoulder pain, and overall well-being.”

~ Frederick Hoffman

It is working for me when nothing else did

“Finding Massage Therapy Group was like winning the lottery. I was in so much pain when I walked in and Jake has been able to make a great start on eliminating it. Everything about this place is professional, calming and therapeutic. It is working for me when nothing else did.”

~ Scott W

Great neuromuscular deep tissue massage work on my shoulders, neck, back and glutes

“Just had my first massage there and Kay was terrific. She did great neuromuscular deep tissue massage work on my shoulders, neck, back and glutes. I had fallen several weeks ago and am still having to recover with a lot of stiffness and she did a great job working out the knots. Highly recommend.”

~ Winn Khuong

As a physical therapist…they make my job easier

“I cannot say enough good things about … the staff at Massage Therapy Group….. And as a physical therapist I have sent many of my patients to the many therapists that work here and not one has been disappointed and they make my job easier. Thank you so much for your amazing work and expertise!!”

~ Holly Navarro

Exactly what I have been searching for in every spa, every massage/chain I have ever visited, that has always failed to deliver

“The best massage I have ever had. Exactly what I have been searching for in every spa, every massage/chain I have ever visited, that has always failed to deliver. But not this place. This place delivers true massage therapy.”

~ Natalie Rodriguez

Chronic back pain

“I have been going to Erika for over a year for chronic back pain. At its worst, the pain causes my back to spasm and wakes me up in the middle of the night. So far, PT + massage are the only things that have helped me keep the pain at bay. PT helps me keep that area strong enough to avoid the spasms and massages help keep the area relaxed. Erika knows exactly how to target “the spot” for almost immediate relief and I would hands down recommend her to anybody who is looking for the same individualized attention. She’s the best!”

~ Kelly Lemenze

Significant reduction in my fibromyalgia pain

“After suffering with fibromyalgia for years, my doctor recommended therapeutic massage to assist in my pain management. After a few months, I noticed significant reduction in my fibromyalgia pain, and also pain relief from earlier back surgery and ongoing spinal stenosis. It’s been 15 years since I started going to the Massage Therapy Group and I don’t know how I’d function without my monthly treatment. Thanks!”

~ Tom G. of Neshanic Station

Pain in my lower back is now gone

“About two years ago, I was experiencing pain in my lower back. This pain affected my sleep and daily living. My massage therapist at Massage Therapy Group, began treating me specifically for my complaints. She has worked on me weekly for the past two years. Today, my pain is gone! Occasionally I will have some discomfort, which my weekly massage therapy diminishes. I also regularly exercise now about three times a week.”

~ Barbara of Whitehouse Station

Able to manage pain and deal with stress better

“Through the Massage Therapy Group, I’ve been able to manage my pain, increase my flexibility and deal with stress better. The massage therapist was able to identify areas that were causing me discomfort and went right to work, with manipulation and hot stones to relax my sore muscles and stretching to restore the mobility I had been lacking. I strongly recommend The Massage Therapy Group to anyone who is looking for pain relief without drugs and a relaxing, invigorating, restorative experience.”

~ JR of Lebanon NJ

Recovery from serious, chronic pain

“My job requires a great deal of lengthy travel in airplanes and sitting for long periods in uncomfortable chairs. Over 15 years ago my massage therapist at The Massage Therapy Group helped me recover from serious, chronic pain and inflexibility associated with my neck and shoulder. Since then I have found that seeing her regularly for “maintenance” helps prevent small issues from becoming big ones.”

~ A grateful client, Clinton

Knowledgeable, thorough and results-oriented

“Gail is my massage therapist whom I would and do recommend often. There isn’t any fluff in her deep tissue techniques. If you have real aches, pains, tightness, nerve entrapment, as I do, then you want a real therapist. And Gail is as real as they get. Knowledgeable, thorough and results-oriented. I wouldn’t be swimming long distances without her assistance. And I also would never have learned where my supraspinatus was! I would also note that Gail is a real down-to-earth good soul of a person too!”

~ G.C. age 57 Hunterdon County

Ability to spot any trouble area

“Take it from an aging athlete; my massage therapist is able to monitor any areas of concern and help me stay healthy. She has the ability to spot any trouble area as well as keep me active in general. The Massage Therapy Group’s an asset to any person who wants to be active as well as anyone who wants to reduce the stress in and on their body.”

~ Eric, age 39

Deep tissue massage enhances my overall performance

“As a runner who logs 50-60 miles a week when training for my annual spring marathon, I trust my therapist at The Massage Therapy Group to facilitate recovery and assist with active healing and rest. Regular deep tissue sports massages enhance my overall performance and contribute to my general health and wellbeing.”

Your Questions, Our Answers

FAQs

Do I need a referral from my doctor for medical massage? Will insurance cover a massage?

A referral is not required, but in NJ, having one from an MD or chiropractor exempts you from sales tax and may improve reimbursement eligibility through FSA or HSA accounts. Contact your insurance provider for policy benefits.

Can I deduct Massage Therapy as a medical expense?

Typically not, however, depending on your situation, you may be able to claim it. Having a medical referral may be helpful. Please consult your tax professional for clarification. Please ask for a receipt at the time of service; otherwise, we may have to charge for record retrieval time.

Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?

Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

Must I be completely undressed?

Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

Will the practitioner be present when I disrobe?

The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet or towel.
